Sales for residential land increase nationwide

By James Brown

Anyone interested in buying land and constructing their own Burpengary real estate could be in luck, with a recent release from the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and RP Data painting a strong picture of the nation's land market.

The Residential Land Report highlighted the prospects of another strong year of sales in 2014/15 following the rises seen over the last 12 months. More specifically, the June 2014 quarter saw residential land sales increase by 8.4 per cent. HIA chief economist Harley Dale went on to say that there was a 10 per cent growth over the fiscal year, offering some indication of the nation's housing development strength.

"Both capital city and regional land markets experienced higher turnover during the June 2014 quarter. Growth was stronger in the aggregate regional land markets – up 13 per cent compared to a 5.5 per cent lift for Australia's six state capitals," said Mr Dale in a 23 October statement.

Following this trajectory, the coming months could be a great time for owners looking buy land and build their own home. If you'd like help finding the perfect place to build, get in touch with an agent.
