New rail project for Moreton Bay well underway

By James Brown

Construction on the 14 kilometre Moreton Bay Rail project has begun, which aims to be completed next year.

This could be great news for owners of real estate in Burpengary. The $988million project providing a much needed connection between the North Coast line and South East Queensland's public transport network.

Minister for transport Jackie Trad said the development of this project would help revolutionise transport across the region, providing an easier commute to and from Brisbane for the area as well as helping reduce the cost of making these journeys every day.

"The project will provide a huge economic injection to one of South East Queensland's fastest-growing regions, helping to attract investment to the area, create business opportunities, and encourage growth along the corridor, with new train stations set to emerge as hubs of development," said Ms Trad in a 22 April statement.

Furthermore the creation of more than 800 jobs during the peak construction period could be a nice incentive for the development of the local economy.
